# About HiredFolio — why we build resume tooling

> HiredFolio exists because software reads your resume before a person does. Who we build for, how the product works, what we will not do, and how to reach us.

Software reads your resume before a person ever does.

HiredFolio is a job-search workspace built around that fact. It compares your resume against the posting you are actually applying to, shows you what an applicant tracking system will and will not parse, and keeps every application in one place until you sign an offer.

- Built for people applying to real jobs, one posting at a time — not for recruiters and not for bulk applying.
- Bilingual in English and French, because the job market we started in is.
- Free to use for the parts that matter most, including the ATS checker, which needs no account.

## Frequently asked questions

### Do I have to pay to use it?

No. The ATS resume checker runs without an account at all. A free account adds two resumes, tracking for up to 100 jobs, the Chrome extension and PDF export. Pro exists for people who want unlimited tracking, tailoring on every application and AI cover letters.

### What happens to my resume once I upload it?

It is stored against your account so you can come back to it and so versions can be compared. It is not sold and it is not shared with recruiters. The privacy policy is the authoritative answer and covers retention and deletion in detail.

### Does it work in French?

Yes. The interface, the marketing pages and support are available in English and French, and the resume tooling reads and writes both.

### Who is HiredFolio for?

People running their own job search and applying deliberately — students and new graduates, career changers, and anyone whose applications are disappearing without a reply. It is built for the person applying, not for recruiters or agencies.

Every tailoring, score and cover letter is anchored to a specific job description you captured. Generic advice is cheap; advice about the role in front of you is not.

The resume assistant proposes edits and you approve them, with restore points on every apply. You should always be able to see what the tool did to your own document and undo it.

Captured jobs, resume versions, cover letters and follow-up reminders live on one board, so the state of your search is something you can look at rather than reconstruct.

We are not a job board. HiredFolio works on postings you have already found; it does not list or source openings.

We do not apply on your behalf. Mass auto-applying wastes everyone's time, including yours, and it is the opposite of tailoring to a posting.

We do not sell your personal information. What we collect and why is set out in full in the privacy policy, not summarised here and left vague.

Most applications are filtered before a human sees them. Applicant tracking systems parse a PDF into fields, match it against the posting, and rank what comes out. A resume that reads well to a person can still be discarded because a two-column layout scrambled the parse, or because the posting's vocabulary never appears in it.

That problem is solvable, and it is mostly mechanical. The hard part is not writing a better resume in the abstract — it is knowing what this particular posting is looking for and whether your document survives being read by a machine. HiredFolio is built to answer those two questions, per application, in a couple of minutes.

Questions, bugs, billing problems and feature requests all go to the same inbox, in English or French.
